According to the Bring Back Our Girls group, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was visibly angry and failed to sympathize during a meeting with the parents of Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram more than a year ago.

The group said Buhari spoke in both English and Hausa during the meeting and he spent no time to comfort the parents. The president reportedly also barred people from taking pictures and did not allow journalists in the meeting hall.

Below are pictures of the parents

While a boarding pass is known to contain the name of the passenger, flight number, destination, seat number and gate number, the bar code on it contains much more.
As evidenced in the video below, forensic expert – Winston Krone revealed that hackers can easily steal one’s name, home address, email address, phone number, and gain access to ones financial details just by scanning the bar code.

Keep in mind, the hacker can use his/her cell phone, and the code can also be scanned from a picture. So the next time you get your ticket for that vacation and post it online, someone can easily steal your information.

I was really inspired by 26-year-old Ilwad Elman who runs the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Mogadishu with her mom.
Her father was an ardent peace activist in the 1990s, spreading the mantra “Put down the gun, pick up the pen” around Somalia, but he was assassinated in 1996.
Ilwad returned to Mogadishu in 2010 while the conflict still raged on in the city. She works closely with victims of rape and sexual assault, as well as rehabilitating child soldiers by teaching them vocational skills.

In the video below, Ilwad talked about a new organization for rape victim founded by her mother’s NGO.

Below is an interesting Q&A with Ilwad

I’m just looking for honest opinions whether you think the angels in this video are real or not. This is prophet Shepherd Bushiri, the popular Malawian Pastor in South Africa who claimed to walk on air last year.
In this video released last month, the Prophet prayed that the eyes of his congregation would be opened to see Angels, so they could believe.

Last year, the Prophet apparently floated in his house, an act that was captured in the following video by News24 Zimbabwe.

Several WhatsApp users have reported downloading a bogus WhatsApp update that asked for their banking details. This update actually steals data once downloaded.  Apart from showing up as a regular update on your phone, some received the message via email

with the subject: “An audio memo was missed” or “You have a video announcement”

Experts have warned that Malware masquerading as a WhatsApp update has the ability to access the banking apps stored elsewhere on your phone. There have been several cases reported of unsuspecting Android users trying to update the popular messaging app, but instead they have accidentally installed the sneaky software that steals data.
This follows reports of a separate piece of malware, also targeting WhatsApp users, that is spread using emails sent from criminals pretending to be from the Californian company.

The malicious emails are sent with subject lines such as ‘an audio memo was missed’ or ‘You have a video announcement’ in order to entice people to click on the message and spread the malware. However, all of these messages end in random characters – such as ‘xgod’ or ‘Ydkpda’ – that may be used to identify an unsuspecting recipient, according to security firm Comodo Labs.
The messages themselves contain a compressed (zip) file harbouring the malicious software, which if clicked upon rapidly infects a computer’s file system and could be used by criminals to control the machine.

A year after promising to remove State of Origins, Nigerians are circulating the words of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on social media:

“We will initiate policies to ensure that Nigerians are free to live and work in any part of the country by removing state of origin, tribe, ethnic and religious affiliations and replace those with state of residence. #VoteChange #ChangeIsHere”

While many have argued that this would be of great benefit, others are waiting for the new administration to follow suit on its promise. Do you think Nigeria is ready to do this?

A new report says the 2016 budget presented to the National Assembly by President Buhari is not missing after all, it was secretly withdrawn. While we’re waiting for the presidency to confirm this, find details below.
Unconfirmed sources said the budget was withdrawn by the President for proper review and to allow for reduction in allocations for some ministries, agencies and parastatals, especially the presidency. Sources said there were too many errors in the budget that cannot be overlooked.
“The president did not read the actual budget until criticism started flying left, right and center.
“For instance, budgetary allocation was made for renovation of Vice President lodge in the Presidency Budget while provision was also made for the renovation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministry’s budgetary allocation,” the source said.
President Buhari had presented a N6.08 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2016. In the budget, capital expenditure takes N1.8 trillion, marking a significant over 300 per cent increment from the 2015 vote of N557 billion.
Since the budget was presented, Nigerians have been criticising some provisions in the budget, especially relating to the presidency.

The president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame has hit back at the U.S for condemning his intention to run for third term.
A referendum recently passed by 98% in Rwanda says Kagame could run for 3rd term and possibly remain in power till 2032. After the U.S State Department said in a statement that

A 25-year-old Kenyan man has chopped off his penis because girls kept turning him down. Leonard Kimotho from Kirinyaga County, caused a stir in his community when he used a sharp knight to chop it off on new year’s day!
He said it’s a protest for being turned down by the women he was trying to date.

Kimotho’s parents were left dumbfounded. They called the area chief, Emmaculate Wanjiru Njoka who said,
“A family from Kiorugari called and informed me their son had chopped off his manhood. They say after secretly performing the act on himself, he rushed out of the house while bleeding profusely.”
Leonard was taken to the hospital with his severed manhood in a polythene bag. However, doctors advised the family to take him to Kerugoya Level 4 Hospital because his condition was severe.
According to Njoka, doctors at Kerugoya Level 4 Hospital have said they will try their best to reattach the manhood.
