South Africa Utility Company To Extend Blackout

Eskom, South Africa’s electricity company  has announced its plans to extend the scheduled blackouts which started on Tuesday into Thursday as breakdowns continued to weigh on the system.

Eskom said in a statement posted on Twitter that loadshedding; as the power cuts is locally called will be implemented from 0700 GMT to 2000 GMT on Thursday.

Adding that the constraints on the power system were likely to persist for the rest of the week.
