COVID-19; Gambia President Declares State Of Emergency

As a result of the recent rise in the number of the coronavirus cases in Gambia, President Adama Barrow has declared a state of emergency and a nationwide night-time curfew for 21 days.

The President stayed that the Gambia’s borders and airspace would remain shut except for cargo, diplomats and those seeking treatment abroad.

It was also gathered that places of worship will remain closed, while schools will only allow final year students to sit for exit examinations from 17 August. All markets and shopping areas will also close every Sunday for cleaning and fumigation.
