Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has announced that Germany will start to open some border crossings from Saturday.

Border controls with France, Switzerland and Austria would be extended until 16 June, but as many crossings as possible will be opened, he said.

Mr Seehofer said “The goal is that from mid-June we want to have free travel in Europe, and controls would be re-introduced if there were new outbreaks of coronavirus.
