Wife of Lesotho Prime minister, Maesaiah Thabane is wanted by the Lesotho police as a result of the recent discovery of new evidence concerning the death of the Prime Minister’s former wife who was shot dead in her driveway on the eve of his inauguration in 2017.
Evidence found by investigators revealed that the Prime Minster Thomas Motsoahae Thabane’s cell phone was used at the murder scene. As a result Thabane was invited for questioning.
She failed to report at the court on Friday which led to the court issuing her arrest warrant.
Police went ahead to search the Prime Minister’s official residence on Friday and she was nowhere to be found.
When police raided the residence, the Prime Minister was found in their bedroom and when asked he denied knowing the whereabouts of the first lady.
However, she was given until Monday to present herself to the police. Her whereabouts still remains unknown.
It was also discovered that Lipelelo Thabanes daughter had earlier publicly accused Thabane in November of being behind her mother’s death.
