Uganda: Landslide kills three children in Kasese

A landslide has killed three children while sleeping in their rooms in Namuhuga South, Bulembia Division in Kasese Municipality.

However, the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 30 in Kasese District in Uganda’s Western Region.

The deceased have been identified as Derrick Mumbere, 3 years, Wesley Mumbere, 10 years, and John Sunday Masereka, 10 years.

Moreover, the children were sleeping in their grandparent’s house when part of a hillside collapsed into it after heavy rain.

Meanwhile, the landslide injured a seven-year-old child, identified as Maureen Kabugho.

The injured victim is presently receiving treatment in Kilembe Mines Hospital.

In addition, On Monday, the government-issued ‘Flood Risk Alert’ warning that the rains might likely bring about flooding.

The government said it had distributed an assortment of relief items to several parts of the country, current facing heavy rains.
