At least nine teachers have been killed in a road accident in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
However, the representative of the Ondo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Nicholas Tofowomo mourned the victims.
Moreover, the teachers were traveling for a wedding ceremony when they met their death at Ijebu-Ife on Saturday, October 26.
On Monday, Tofowomo, in a statement through his media aide, Olumide Akinrinlola, commiserated with the families of the bereaved.
In addition, the Senator, who was also recovering from a ghastly motor accident, said that bad roads also contributed to accident in the country.
Meanwhile, he urged the federal government to repair roads to avoid frequent accidents.
“I mourn with the teachers from Okitipupa who lost their lives in multiple motor accidents.
“I pray for the repose of their souls and commiserate with their families over the unfortunate incident.
“I also call on the federal government to as a matter of urgency rehabilitate road to reduce accidents on our highways.
The Senator also promised to sponsor a bill on the speed limits of drivers to reduce road accidents on highways.
