Nigeria: Youths shut down Benin-Lagos Highway after car kills four people

Four Ladies have been killed at Uselu, Egor Local Government Area of Edo State on Saturday, October 26, around 6:15 am.

In brief, a BMW saloon car rammed into the victims while they were waiting to board a bus along the Benin-Lagos highway.

Suddenly, the driver lost control and ran into the four ladies who were reportedly sisters and one of them was pregnant.

Moreover, a crowd of angry youths stormed the scene and burnt down the car involved in the accident.

However, the youth also blocked down the road while some of them accused the police officers of allegedly shooting and taking away some injured youths in an attempt to clear the blocked road.

Whereas, five people among the youth sustained gunshot wounds, one in the shoulder, another in the chest and the last beside the eye.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Commissioner of Police Danmallam Mohammed, who visited the scene, confirmed the incident.

Bodies of the victims have been retrieved and deposited at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH.
