The Libyan army says it has captured eight fighters from Khalifa Hafter’s forces on Khallatat frontline in southern Tripoli.

Moreover, the Spokesperson for the Libyan Army, Mohammed Gununu confirmed the incident.

However, the fighters were caught while trying to sneak into the area on Sunday, October 27.

Gununu said that the Libyan Army took control of the areas in Southern Tripoli.

The Libyan Army says it launched the attack to regain positions lost two weeks ago due to shortages of ammunition and supplies.

They attacked after the arrival of the reinforcement, hence, seizing the areas in Al-Tawaisha and Al-Tugar around Al-Sabea frontline.

The Libyan Army has been leading a military campaign since early April in and around Tripoli.

Thousands of people have lost their lives, many injured and nearly 120,000 people fled their homes away from the fighting.
