Heavy rains, a landslide in west Cameroon kills at least thirteen

A torrential downpour, which caused floods and a landslide, has killed at least thirteen people.

However, the incident occurred overnight in the western village of Bamoungoum, near the regional capital Bafoussam.

Moreover, Cameroon has deployed rescue workers and it’s military to the scene, to search the wreckage of houses involved.

On Tuesday, October 29, the governor of Cameroon’s west region, Awa Fonka Augustine confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, Augustine said that the landslide destroyed twenty houses.

In addition, nine bodies have been transported to the regional hospital and four more bodies will follow.

At least a dozen people sustained severe injuries.
