Egypt: Four killed after shells hit two houses in north Sinai

At least four people have been killed, including a child, after shells hit two houses in the restive northern Sinai Peninsula.

Moreover, the incident happened on Saturday, October 19 in the town of Sheikh Zuweid.

Meanwhile, the shell also injured twelve people, who are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

However, the Egypt security officials and medics confirmed the incident.

Although they spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.

Nine people of the same family lost their lives last week and six people sustained injuries when a shell hit a truck carrying civilians in the town of Bir-al-Abd.

Egypt is battling an Islamic State-led by the insurgency in Sinai.

The battle became tough after the military overthrew an Islamist president in 2018.

The militant has carried out scores of attacks mainly targeting security forces and minority Christian.
