Uganda: Eight killed in Bugiri road accident

At least eight people lost their lives in a road accident along the Jinja-Tororo highway, Uganda.

The accident occurred on Sunday, September 15, around 5:30 am.

However, an eyewitness, Mr. Besweri Kawanguzi who was on his way to the farm when the happened said the accident involves a bus belonging to the modern coast and a truck.

The bus was traveling from Kenya while the truck with the registration number ZE 2344 was coming from Kapala.

The truck driver lost control of the vehicle and veered to the right-hand side of the road.

Consequently, the bus collided with the oncoming bus, thus, leading to the death of three people on the spot.

Moreover, five others succumbed to their injuries on their way to Bugiri hospital.

Injured victims are receiving treatment at the hospital

Bodies of the dead victims were also deposited at the Bugiri hospital mortuary.
