From Monday, September 2 to October 31, 2019, some sections of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be closed. Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) announced.

The agency, therefore, released a traffic advisory on Sunday, September 1, warning all those who take the road.

The closure of the road is to facilitate the ongoing construction work on it.

Thus, the road will be closed from Kara Bridge inward Berger.

The alternative route for users of the road to take is as follows:

*Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway form/to Abeokuta connecting from/to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

*Sagamu-Ikorodu Road from/to Sagamu connecting via Sagamu interchange from/to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

*Ijebu-Ode – Itoikin Road from/to Ijebu-Ode connecting from/to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The construction work will cover about 1.4 kilometers of the 127.6-kilometer, long expressway.

Note that, Julius Berger, the construction company in charge of the road wanted to shut down the road earlier in August.

However, the date was moved forward due to its clash with Eid-el-Kabir celebrated, when many Nigerians travel through the road.
