The Libyan Coast Guards has rescued no fewer than seventy-five illegal immigrants during a patrol on Friday, August 2 at the north of Zuwara Coast, in about 120km west of the capital of Tripoli.

The Navy Spokesperson Ayob Qassem confirmed the rescue, saying the Illegal immigrants consist of different Africans and Arab nationalities in which there are three women and that the boat is a rubber boat.

This report comes only days after 60 bodies of illegal immigrants were recovered who drowned off the eastern coast of Tripoli.

Libyan has become a preferred point of departure for illegal immigrants wanting to cross the Mediterranean to Europe for greener pasture but the majority of them ended up passing away on their journey.
