The Republic of Korea have presented thirteen Nigerian government officials full scholarships for the master’s program in top Korean Universities.
A pre-departure orientation program was organised to prepare and advise the lucky thirteen students on what to expect while studying in Korea. Students were picked from different government agencies in Nigeria.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Lee In-Tae stated at the event for the students that the scholarship was granted through the technical cooperation agency and the grant aid called the International Cooperation Agency Korea (KOICA).
He said KOICA will pay for their round – trip, air ticket, admission, registration fees, accommodation, health insurance and meals throughout their master’s program.
According to him, the Korean government have been supporting the Nigerian government since it established a diplomatic relationship far back as 1980.
He added that the goal of the scholarship was to help Nigerians keep up with global best practices, especially in terms of technology that Korea has achieved thereby advising the student to put on a ” Can Do Spirit” during their time of the study and also encourage them to represent the country well.
