Yobe State Governor Marries previous Governor’s daughter as third wife after swearing-in

Barely 24 hours after swearing in, the governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has taken a third wife.

On Thursday May 30, the incoming governor ties the knot with, Ummi Adama Gaidam daughter of outgoing governor, Ibrahim Gaidam.

Ummi Adama, is currently studying in Saudi Arabia.

Islamic scholar, Sheik Abubakar Adam, a friend to both families gave the hand of Ummi to Mala in marriage.

Unnamed sources close to the family have said that Buni and Ummi were in a relationship without the knowledge of the former governor. Buni had come to seek her hand in marriage before the swearing in.

Rumor has it that the new bride will be made the first lady of the State.The low-key marriage took place at the house of the former governor, Gaidam in the Sabon Fegi area of Damaturu, the state capital.

Buni was the immediate past – National Secretary of the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC and was announced by Gaidam to succeed him as governor.
