The Lagos State Government on Thursday said it has reduced the Land Use Charge.
The government announced this known through its Twitter handle, @followlasg.
The Commissioner for Finance, Akinyemi Ashade, also announced this at a press briefing in Alausa.
Akinyemi said that rate for commercial charges had been reduced by 50 per cent while owner-occupier, industries and manufactural charges had been reduced by 25 percent.
The reviewed Land Use Charge has sparked controversies in recent weeks.
Members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja Branch on Tuesday staged a protest over the Land Use Charge Law.
The lawyers during the protest marched to the Governor’s Office in Alausa, Ikeja, the state capital, carrying a banner and various placards with inscriptions lamenting over the law.
