‘We are all victims of your incompetence' - Obasanjo blasts Buhari again, urges Nigerians to vote him out in 2019

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that it would be “foolhardy for Nigerians to reinforce failure by re-electing ineffective and incompetent government in 2019.”

Obasanjo added that we are all victims of President Buhari’s incompetent government.

He also warned Nigerians never to be deceived by the reforms being claimed by the Peoples Democratic Party.

The ex-president said this on Monday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, while playing host to the New Nigeria 2019 Group led by the convener, Chima Anyaso; in company with Moses Siasia.

He said: “The truth is this: When you have an ineffective and incompetent government, we are all victims.

“And don’t let anybody deceive you. Those of you who are in business, your business could have been better today if we have a competent and effective and performing government.

“As I said, stop giving excuses; we met challenges. If there were no challenges, then we wouldn’t need you to come.

“You came in because you know there were challenges and then giving us excuse that you have many challenges, that is why you haven’t achieved results.

“And then you still want to go. The first lesson I learnt in my military training is to never reinforce failure. What we have now is failure.

“Never you reinforce failure. Let failure be failure. And if you do not see what you should see, you will then be a victim of what you don’t like because it’s only when you see what you should see and you do what you should do that you put away what you do not like.

“You see, I have publicly said and I mean it, that as a party, neither PDP nor APC can get us there as they have been. Never mind about reforms and apology and all that.”

  1. I am not a fan of President Obasanjo but forced to agree with him on this submission. Nigeria is at crossroads and need Divine intervention as neither PDP or APC have any moral justification for leadership in Nigeria . The former is a failure and the latter failing forward. The country need a reinvention in its political sphere before it becomes a failed country.

  2. Obasanjo that is now making noise upandan, is he not one of the major principalities that established corruption as a way of life and government policy in Nigeria. Why was Bola Ige murdered, what happened to $16 million power sector funds, N25 million bribe offered to senators to truncate the constitution and endorse his third agenda. etc. Now that corruption has become an uncontrollable monster he is now playing saint. All of them are the same. Only a revolution will rescue Nigeria from their evil grip.

I personally believe that our past leaders both miliary & civil are blind failure, they rush into government affairs inorder to steal, kill, maim & as well ruin our country for their selfish interest & entron their children on thesame line of actions, what we nigerians need very quickly now is a revolutionary action that can deliver us.
