West African leaders on Monday in Nigeria decided to meet with Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh again "in a final effort at resolution."
The decision was reached in a mediation meeting in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, today.
Addressing the press after the meeting, Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama, said: "The Gambian political crisis will be resolved in manner that conforms to the Constitution and respects the people's will."
"Leaders are concerned about deteriorating Gambia situation, especially closure of media organisations, arrests and looming refugee situation."
"President Buhari will lead a delegation to discuss with President Jammeh on Wednesday January 11, in a final effort at resolution."
