A shooting at the Fort Lauderdale international airport in Florida has left five people killed and eight others wounded and rushed to the hospital.
The suspected shooter is now in custody, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Department. He was wearing a Star Wars T-shirt at the time of the shooting, just before 1 p.m.
As of now, authorities are not sure of all eight people were wounded by gunfire. Meanwhile, all flights have been temporarily suspended. Witnesses said the shooter did not say a word before opening fire.
The shooting occurred at the baggage claim area inside the second terminal, which is home to departures and arrivals for Delta and Air Canada, according to airport officials.
