Dog bite kills Gambia President-elect Adama Barrow's 7-year-old son (PHOTOS)
Gambia's President-elect Adama Barrow has lost his 7-year-old son, Habib Barrow, to dog bite.
Habib died on Sunday after he was bitten by a dog in Fajara.
He was rushed to hospital but did not make it.
He has been buried in Banjul.
Mr Barrow reportedly has two wives and four other children.
A statement from the Office of The President-Elect said: "It is with deep regret to learn of the demise of Habib Barrow, 7years old (2010-2017), the son of the President-elect which sad event occurred on Sunday January 15 in Serre Kunda. We pray to the Almighty Allah to grant the late Habib eternal peace and mercy in Janatul Firdawsi. In the same token we offer our heartfelt condolences to President-elect Adama Barrow and his family for this tragic loss and to urge them to take solace in the Infinite Mercy of Allah, from whom we came and to whom we shall all go. We remain deeply aggrieved and continue to pray for the departed soul. Amen."
